What goes wrong in this use case
The workbook links sheets by a code or key (region code on one sheet, region name on another). The model assumes which code means which name instead of reading the lookup sheet.

The guard
Before using any value from one sheet with another, write the mapping out of the workbook itself: key -> meaning, one line each, quoted from the lookup sheet. If a key has no entry, mark it UNMAPPED. Never infer a mapping from order, spelling or what seems likely.

How to check it
Every code on the slides traces to a line in the lookup sheet.

Example
Sales uses region 20. The Regions sheet says 20 = North. A guess from alphabetical order would have said East.
